My shop is located in the SODO area of seattle.
As a builder and metal fabricator I am interested in the intimate properties of materials: their surface, weight and strength. As a sculptor I am influenced by the materials I see around me: steel, concrete, tarpaper, drywall tape. I endlessly search for, find, construct, reclaim and modify these materials, seeking new relationships between them.
I have been a metalworker in various capacities for over 15 years. I have fabricated sculptures for prominent artists, worked in a foundry creating sculpture and signage from start to finish and ran public art projects in SE Seattle high school and middle schools.
Presently me and my husband have a custom modern home design/build company.
I weld, fabricate, forge and cast metal as well as cast, fuse and slump glass. However, I have the inclination to salvage and these materials often make an appearance in my work.
As for my own work as a sculptor I have my own line of jewelry and furniture. I became serious about pursuing my art career about 7 years ago. I first began exhibiting selected pieces in and around Georgetown where I had my studio. I later joined Columbia City Gallery where I exhibited in group shows multiple times a year and participated in the daily running of the gallery. Presently I am a member of Core gallery in the TK building, also an artist run gallery.
My work and wares can be seen at Ghost gallery on Capitol Hill, Twilight Artist collective in West Seattle and Matter Gallery in Olympia.
