As a builder and metal fabricator I am interested in the intimate properties of materials: their surface, weight and strength. As a sculptor I am influenced by the materials I see around me: steel, concrete, tarpaper, drywall tape. I endlessly search for, find, construct, reclaim and modify these materials, seeking new relationships between them. I have an inclination to salvage and these things often make an appearance in my work.

I have been a metalworker in various capacities for over 20 years. I have fabricated sculptures for prominent artists, worked in a foundry creating sculpture and signage from start to finish and ran public art projects in SE Seattle high school and middle schools. Presently I teach Welding/Sculpture at Coyote Central, Pratt Fine Art Center and Cornish +.

I maintain a shop/art practice on our family farm amongst the goats in Woodinville, Wa.
